The rest of the room was now looking warily at Belboz. "What - what do you
mean by that?" Joan asked. "Well, apparently, I am not only working to defeat the Amazons - I'm also working for them, as well." Embron drew his sword and pressed it into Belboz's neck. "Explain yourself, charlatan, or I shall run you through here and now!" It was, surprisingly, Uxton who supplied the answer. "I believe that what Belboz is referring to, Your Majesty, is the ability some of the more powerful mages have to split themselves into more than one person. Each instance of the mage is just as powerful as the other - but they may have entirely different agendas." "So this other Belboz is like a twin - one who's gone evil?" Joan asked. "Not entirely," the wizard replied. "He's not just my twin, he's actually me. And it's not so much that he's evil, the other me has merely chosen to work for a different goal than this me."
