The Never Ending Quest - Episode 13862

Not what it seems...

"A man with a very urgent message for you." a man from behind Lady Phylicia shouts, interrupting. "That Bladerunner, Mr. Holden, is here for that appointment with those suspected janitors. The Voight-Kampff test he wanted to do? You did say you wanted to at least greet him before he got down to business, sir."

Note: Read or rent Bladerunner to understand what's being hinted at here with this drastic interruption.

Phylicia turns, seeing a man dressed decidely out of step with the others in this room. Turning back, an elegant question on her face (like just how this ill dressed servant managed to remain hired if this is how he acted with his betters). She then pauses again...

The man who the Duke had been about to introduce you too has a flash of anger on his face at the interruption, and then a look of consternation.

"Oh dear," he sighs. "What with those Replicants running around and I forget that. Still, one cannot be faulted for some form of stress relief, eh? Await for me and we'll start this from the top, eh?"

"What?" Lady Phylicia asks, as the crowd around her and the Duke sigh a little bit, heading out of the room as if to await for the man's return (at his beck and call, almost). "What on Earth is going on?"

Tyrell, pausing in mild surprise that his dance partner for tonight's diversion hasn't scurried off with the others as he'd basically ordered.

"Run along dear," he says, putting this off until later in order to take care of more pressing business. "I'll be back soon enough.

Noting the still confused look on Phylicia's face as she hesitates just a little bit longer before going out the way the others had gone. Of course, Phylicia get's lost just as quickly as she leaves, not really knowing the lay of this monsterous building she has discovered herself in.

See, beyond this room things are decidedly out of steps with the times she believed she had been in....

Tyrell, noting her odd behavior before she leaves, makes a note for a technician to check over that Replicant to make sure she's not malfunctioning in some fashion. Bad enough that those other Replicants had jumped a ship and gotten back to Earth...

He then pauses, asking himself just why in God's name he'd (out of the blue) had ordered such an estravagent setting (complete with newly grown Replicants) to his spefications.... He asks himself why he'd done just that....now. At the time, it seemed to make perfect sense for a get away. A diversion from the rigors of his lot in life.

Now, it just didn't make bloody much sense, really.

He puts all that aside and immediately forgets everything as the last of the spell lets go of his mind. Later he'll come across this room again, Replicants (except for one) patiently awaiting his return, and wonder just how in the heck such a extravagent waste of resources got done with his back turned. Then he'll see the workorder with his own signature on it and....

Ah, but that's later.

Finally, totally lost and confused, she runs into a burly looking man (not exactly the brightest looking chap). She'd tried to get others to help her, but they'd been too busy for some reason to bother. Things to do and people to see in order to keep jobs and all that. No time to help an obvious Replicant servant....

Some mutter annoyance over the latest "elevator music" that being played. Obviosly some wiseguys with a rudimentary sense of humor had hacked into the computers and put in a protest song. A song that was an obvious parody of the company's latest motto on their latest Replicants...

Actually, it was really some kind of strange twist of fate that had let a song from another timestream "slip in" into the airwaves. A song by a group called "White Zombie". Phylicia overhears it and finds it rather....not to her taste.

"Ghastly," she mutters, appalled. Just the latest in a whole series of strange, weird things unsettling her composure...

That and other things had rather has upset her. So much so that the man she'd run into is taken aback, pausing in his walk to this sudden summonings. "What's the problem, ma'am?" Leon asks her.

  1. Leon feels a chill as he listens to Phylicia's rather upset babbling, right at the end. Shit, they'd found him out it seems....
