Heat exhaustion?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 13765

That this was all a weird dream and it was time to wake up.

So the young woman, having decided to wake up, wakes up!

She comes to with a group of rather athletic men and women bending over her, all looking concerned. Her head is still swiming, having passed out from the heat of the Californian day AND the excessive workout!

Dimly, she recalls somebody (a doctor, she thinks) saying that she should take it easy until she fully recovered from her recent bout of the flu. But she so very much wanted to continue astronaut training because....

Wait, why was she here? Who was she?! Astronaut training? What kind of nonsense was that?

"Peggie Anne?" one of the brunnete women asks softly. "Are you okay?"

Peggie Anne?! What kind of stupid name was that.

Apparently it was her name! And she instantly despised it.

Honestly, it really wasn't a bad name, it's just not one she liked particularly for some reason. Kind of felt it was somehing too mousy sounding! And something within this woman's heart refused . . . she didn't do MOUSY.

"Call me Miranda DeSilk," muttered the young woman to the others. If she was going to call herself something, then by God the name she'll have will have some character. Even IF it was from some strange half remembered dream!

"Who?" the brunnete blinks, confused.

They didn't chose this bunch of "breeders" for brains, Miranda thinks to herself, then blinking in consternation as she tries to follow up that thought with exactly what it meant. Blank.

"I gotta get to the clinic," Miranda, who still looked exactly like she looked in that dream (except dressed in a most unseemingly revealing manner in 20th century fitness gear), begs off.

Still light headed, she makes for the clinic as a helicopter flies overhead, taking some kind of representative from the British government to see the benefactor of this intrepid endevour.

For a brief second, Miranda could have sworn the world around her froze for a few seconds because there was some kind of jump in her perception. That and some kind of chill flows through her...like something evil touched her very being....

She puts if off as lingering effects of heat exhaustion...or whatever..

Anyway...

  1. Yes, it's fitting that someone should come see Mr. Drax about what had happened to the Moonraker shuttle....
