The Tale of Willian

Meanwhile, his cousin Willian was having problems of his own. He was sitting down for dinner when a messenger came by with a note from his cousin Fred:

Willian, come quickly to the southern caves. Bring your feather boots. -Fred

"That's odd," thought Willian. "How did Fred learn of my boots?" Willian had been working in secret to perfect magical boots that would enable the wearer to nearly weightless.

Still, Fred was his cousin, and an important knight of the kingdom. Willian ran to his workroom, grabbed the boots, kissed his wife, and headed out towards the caves.

As he followed the road and neared the caves, he was stopped by a couple of knights. He recognized them as Fred's friends Sir Toby and Sir Paulito.

"I'm sorry, but we cannot let you pass. This is Dragon country and it's much too dangerous."

"But I'm needed by Lord Fred!" protested Willian. He tried to show the men Fred's note, but they only shrugged. "Illiterate fools," thought Willian. "What am I to do now?"

1. Willian attempts bribery to get past.
2. Willian attempts to use violence to get past.
3. Willian attempts to use magic to get past.
