"Now, as for the next destination," the Time Lord says tapping something
into the control column, "I had urgent business to attend to before I was
diverted. Hopefully, the TARDIS will return to the space/time coordinates
where I'd left off at. Jo Grant had something to tell me about that wedding
gift I'd given her......" "Wedding gift......uh oh," Betty whispered, remembering The Planet of the Spiders. "What's the matter?" the Doctor asked. "You look troubled." "Uh..." Betty wasn't quite sure how to begin. "Doctor, this wedding gift... It wouldn't be a blue crystal, by any chance, would it? The one you got on Metebilis 3?" The Doctor blinked. Yes, he'd been interested in having Betty along as a companion largely because of her knowledge of the TV show that, on her world, apparently paralleled his life, but somehow this was a bit... disconcerting. "Yes," he replied. "Why? What about it?" Betty's gaze unfocused for a moment, as she attempted to recall the episode clearly. The blue crystal with the weird psionic effects, the Tibetan monks, the giant spiders, the radioactive cave... the Doctor's regeneration... "Um," she said again, finally. "I don't think it's Jo Grant you want to talk to. You have to find Mike Yates. He's, um, hanging out with some Tibetan monks somewhere..." The Doctor gave her a strange look, and opened his mouth to speak... when suddenly the TARDIS's central column ground to a stop.
