And then each felt themselves falling into the bright and golden orbs of the other......
It's almost a law, it seems.
But, in actuality, it's not, really.
If certain Oracles who'll forever remain nameless (and rot in unmarked graves once certain powerful people like Oberon get's his hands on them) had not intervened in certain universes, there would have been a scene or two where Fred met an Astra....and they'd come to blows instead to kisses.....to romance.
But it did happen, and in one universe an Astra will instead, that evening, be a dragon's plaything while a certain blue haired storybook fairy is adjusting to her new life.
In another universe, the would be combatants had instead been transformed into a species of intelligent beings known to be ruled by their heart in much greater proportions than the human norm.
So, instead of misunderstandings blowing up into harsh words, battles...and an eventual war fought between two nations over hurt feelings, two new elfin hearts saw each other....decided that that would be the other's partner throughout life....and Astra and Fred fell instantly....and permanently in love.
In love with each other...and in love with what they'd become.
Alterations to pscyche acelerated and crystalized, and desires to return to old things faded. Heart and mind, instead, were aflame in intrigue and joy at the body they now resided in.
Fred, now a full breasted, beautiful female elf with raven black/blue hair down to her knees, looked deeply into her love's eyes...and soul, and knew that this was the one for her.
She looked forward to what life would be like with him....and what would come from it.
The joys of her new body (and what could be born from it), excited her. She relished the change....as her elfin heart convinced her to be thus.
Fred, now named Ia'adoire, sighed and leaned in to kiss the other's lips.
Astra was now a dashing, handsome male elf, and desires to return to old things faded. Heart and mind, instead, were aflame in intrigue and joy at the body they now resided in.
He looked forward to what life would be like with her....and what would come from it.
The joys of his new body (and what could be born from it), excited her. She relished the change....as her elfin heart convinced him to be thus.
Astra, now named Lueoth, sighed and leaned in to kiss the other's lips.
Why did it happen this way?
Some would call it fate.
Maybe, however, it was the fact that if the new elves didn't accept what they'd become, they'd go permanently insane due to the demands on their psyche by their now altered Matrixs'. Maybe, or maybe not.
Whatever the case, yet another Fred and Astra are now bonded in love.
The kiss turns into a molten embrace and the outside world falls away....only to come back in a clamor of noise as a man comes stumbling out from behind a prop fascade, tripping over and landing loudly as he knocks over the paper mische fountain behind them.
"And our last Champion arrives," Astra la Post says to nobody in particular.
