Before the snake's smile disappeared as well, Andrea just had time to ask it: "Will I really be immortal and all-knowing like you said?" "Well, maybe that was a bit of hyperbole on my part," the snake conceded, "but you're rapidly acquiring the body I promised you, so you can't complain." And with that, the snake's smile vanished as well.

Andrea climbed down from the snake's tree-house, slightly hampered by her clothing, which was now too tight in some places and too loose in others. She supposed she ought to get back to her quest.

  1. The real Juno appeared.
  2. What the snake had heard wasn't Juno but Jupiter!
  3. What the snake had heard was actually something more mundane than a Greek deity.
