On the Beach

"You idiot," she said with no compassion at all. "The legends of our land are more than mere myth; they are...well...more than that." Alexis nodded her head in agreement. "Anyway, the way Mistress Katrina tells it, the fluffy bunnies of the Island Demetri are faster than a pack of jaguars, more powerful than an elephant, and able to leap over the tallest hut."

"Uh-huh," said Fred in mock agreement.

"Shut up!" Astra and Alexis said in unison. "Men!" snarled Alexis, "Good for nothing but a night in the sack!"

Robert and Fred looked at each other and smiled.

"Or a good ditch, don't forget that," added Astra.

The two guys looked at each other and gulped.

Just then a strange sound, a cry of some sort was carried by the breeze over the tops of the palm trees. "What's that?!?" cried Robert. "Is it the bunny?!!" exclaimed Fred.

The two women looked at each other and giggled. "Naw," said Alexis. "That's just the call of a howler monkey. C'mon, let's get out of here and find some shelter. We need to avoid caves, bunnies just love caves."

~~great! now we've got caves...all I need are more caves in my life!~~ Fred shook his head and followed the women into the jungle.
