Explaining the situation to the people in the airstrip's control tower was
interesting, as they had trouble believing Stacy and Julie's frankly
incredible story at first. But they nevertheless agreed to let Stacy use
their phone. She quickly arranged for the ambulance, then called Falk.
(Obviously her memory had been quite good before it was wiped, as she had
no difficulty remembering Falk's phone number.) Falk picked up on the first ring, and as soon as Stacy introduced herself he burst out, "Where the hell are you? You didn't answer your phone, we found your hotel room deserted! I thought I told you..." Stacy quickly interrupted him, explaining everything that had happened to them. Falk digested this in silence for a moment, then said. "All right. Stay where you are for the moment. I'll arrange some transportation for you." "Thank you," said Stacy. "So, uh, what exactly happened on your end? Zimmermann said your raid of the building was successful..." "Yes, it was," said Falk. "We certainly found enough evidence to shut them down for good."
