After a full week of cataloguing the Numfar System for potential colonization, we weren't at our most aware when three intruders appeared on the bridge. A naked man in his thirties, a naked teenaged boy and a bizarre, humanoid entity that asked me for my autograph. "The three were taken to the brig. The entity had to be sedated. The man and boy were given clothes and food and medical attention as needed. Our translator program soon picked up that they spoke a bizarre variation of ancient Latin. "The man is Lord Fred and the boy is Velus, who claimed to have been changed into a dog for some time before meeeting Fred. They had encountered an enchanted piece of jewlery before suddenly appearing on my bridge. "It is odd but I get a sense they are not lying. We certainly have seen weirder things out here. "I will have to return to them later because I don't think I have all the details right. Fred seems to think he had encountered the Hope Diamond. While it is reported to be cursed, it did not exist in the medivial times Fred claimed that he came from." Kirk closes the log and stares out the window. The imploding Emry Nebula coasts by, a million million miles away. Even from this distance large purple bolts stab randomly at the dark, empty reaches surrounding it.
