"What is going on here?" Astra asked. "Perhaps this place is not as well protected from the dragon's master's magic as our rescuers thought?" Fred suggested. "That does seem the most likely explanation. In which case we must be in great danger. If this powerful mage can do that, then I imagine he can snatch us out of here at will."

No sooner has Astra said those words than:

  1. Precisely that happened.
  2. The bedroom they were in disappeared, and they were in the middle of the blizzard. The naked Astra in particular was in grave danger from the conditions.
  3. Someone (or something) materialised in the bedroom.
