Fred frowned briefly, and could not but admire the glistening firm and gorgeous bodies of the naked young women, before the cruel edges and sharp points of their weapons reminded him of the challenge at hand.

"I have no proof of my station," Sir Fred answered, "other than these arms I bear. A knight's shield with its arms painted on it, these knightly weapons and my armor. No one but a knight is given these things, and I assure you I did not steal them!"

One of the amazons, a statuesque woman with curly black hair in a huge man around her elfin face, spoke.

"He doesn't seem to be lying..."
