On The Beach

Meanwhile, Astra - seeing Pat in trouble - has already jumped through the closing tear. Ally, having just befriended Astra and acting on an impulse, quickly follows her through. They both land heavily and uncomfortably on the pebble beach. The first thing Astra does, to Ally's astonishment, is to take off her dress. "A long velvet gown is fine in the right circumstances, but not if I may need to fight," Astra explains, above a distant rumble of thunder. Beneath the dress she is wearing a bra (which intrigues her, as she has never seen such a garment before) and panties.

Pat is nearby. He seems to be in a state of shock. After all, he has had an extraordinary day, first being blown up and now having been sucked through a tear in reality to this strange place. He is in no state to defend herself from whatever dangers there might be here.

1. Fortunately, the unnaturally-shaped creatures appear to be purely aquatic and unable to come out of the water.
2. The unnaturally-shaped creatures come out of the water and advance up the beach towards our three heroes.
3. The unnaturally-shaped creatures become hidden from view as the storm breaks and torrential rain starts to fall.
