The king happened to run his finger along the side of the phone and, without realising what he was doing, pressed the on-off switch. The phone vibrated and then sounded a tone, and he was so startled that he almost dropped it. Then he saw that the face had lit up, and that strange symbols and text were starting to appear on it. "This is not natural at all," he said. "It must be a magic device of some kind. Perhaps it belongs to the Dragon."
"You had better put it down, Sire, and then step well back. It might well be dangerous." As the king was about to do so, Melissa stirred, perhaps awoken by the phone's quite loud start-up tone. She shivered; she was not dressed suitably for the quite chilly caves. Then she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was the king holding her phone. "Hey, who are you and what are you doing with my phone?" she said. "And why the hell am I chained up? Let me go at once, you pervert." "I'm sorry, Sire," Fred said. "She does not know who you are." Melissa turned her head when he spoke, and he came into her field of view. "I thought you were my friend, Fred," she said reproachfully, "but it seems that you are in league with this ruffian."
