"Of sure," said Vulbi, nodding vigorously, even as apprehension settled in her stomach. After a pause, she asked, "If we no hear more, and time come to leave, I go with?"

"I no know," said Horgu, shrugging helplessly. "We see."

Dreeg continued to grow. Now, Vulbi was not done contributing to the clan's numbers, by any means. Goblins could have a few children a year, and usually did when possible. She settled into their mating cycle, and the next two children she had were also boys.

  1. And for every child, around the same age, Vulbi received a very similar vision.
  2. But it seemed Dreeg really was a chosen one, and that none of the other children were special.
