The Never Ending Quest - Episode 119316

Before Fred could reply, they were interrupted by the sound of something large crashing through the undergrowth that surrounded the clearing where the Aqualarians had made camp. Then a cave troll about eight feet tall charged into the clearing. Everyone stared at it for a moment, taken totally by surprise. Trolls were unheard of in this region; had it been driven here by something even more fearsome? It was also very rare for one to be seen in daylight, though the sun was close to setting.

"Quick, give me back my blade!" Astra said.

But Fred ignored her. Instead, acting on instinct, she charged the monster.

One swift swing of the blade, and she had decapitated the troll. The Aqualarians gaped at her. Where had this strange young woman learnt such skill with a weapon?
But before she could reach it, there was the twang of a crossbow, and a bolt went deep into its chest and through its heart. Fynia had reacted quicker than anyone else and her shot had instantly killed the creature.
But Fred's swing missed. The troll cuffed her aside and made straight for Astra, as if it somehow knew that she was the most important target.
