The farmer's name was Norbert, and he was a kind man indeed. He had a barley farm, and Fred, a highborn man, had never known very much about farming at all, but it seemed simple little Hannah would have to learn. By her estimation, her only chance of returning to her quest, against whatever plot Belboz had concocted to trap her in this form, was simply to grow up again. The thought filled her with terrible dread, but she was so helpless she didn't really see any other option. Unless a wizard she could trust, by providence, materialized in her life, she doubted anyone would even believe her. She tried to play the part, not wanting to draw too much attention for her precociousness, but also wanting to be well-regarded and seen as mature and intelligent for what she had become. It was a difficult balance to strike, and she did find herself gradually adopting the mannerisms of a little girl, responding naturally to the way she was treated. Word of the dragon and the politics of Allaria didn't often reach the hamlet, which drove her a bit mad, but also turned out to be a welcome escape. It was peaceful, simply being Norbert's daughter and farmhand-in-training. At first, she worried almost daily about how she, a poor farmgirl, could possibly ever regain the skills and repute needed to embark on her holy quest again, but these worries eventually took a backseat. It would be at least a few years before she could address them anyway.
