The poor, voiceless maiden! But she couldn't hold it against her beloved for a moment, and in fact was somewhat relieved to have the temptation to reveal herself taken away. She leaned forward, intending to give him a kiss, but her huge dress rather got in the way. Belboz grabbed her waist and pulled her close, and she clung to him as he waved his hand and they were transported to the castle of Allaria. She was overjoyed to see everyone, spotting even more familiar faces than she'd expected. Some of them she hadn't thought about for some time - many, in fact, since she'd been so preoccupied with thoughts of Belboz for six months. She smiled, so very content that she could see they were well and not wrestle at all with the urge to speak to them. Her beloved was so wise indeed; she loved him ever so much. The only thing that kept returning to niggle at her mind was the dark vial she had glimpsed. It didn't seem that Belboz had noticed her noticing it, and she was unable to ask him what it was. She knew that he knew best, but she couldn't get past the terrible notion that he was going to kill someone here tonight. Perhaps... oh, as horrible as it was to think, perhaps she could look the other way if it was someone she didn't know, but... what if it wasn't? Oh, what if it was the king or queen? What if - Every time she looked into his eyes, she managed to push these misgivings back down. But they just kept creeping back. Soon enough the banquet began, and during the third course, Belboz excused himself, leaving her for the first time to finish her own plate without him picking off it.
