Cinnamon's expression froze. Jessamine seemed intelligent and insightful, and didn't seem like the type to offer easy praise for someone she didn't know well. Cinnamon immediately became fearful that Jessamine knew exactly the kind of man Belboz was--and was okay with it.
Suddenly, the girl wondered if she hadn't stumbled into another villain.
She paid very close attention to Jessamine after that, and how she and the rest of the party interacted with each other.
-
Within an hour, though, she had abruptly decided she actually really liked and trusted Jessamine, seeing her almost as a sister.
-
It wasn't long before she noticed little subtle handwaves from Jessamine that suddenly stopped arguments or convinced other party members to do tasks, etc. Nobody else seemed to notice.
-
Jessamine was easily the favorite member of the party, and even when her manipulations were noticed, they were not seen as a problem. Was this because of deeper, more insidious manipulation--or was the rest of the party as bad as she was?
-
Cinnamon didn't notice anything of concern. Perhaps she wasn't as powerful as Belboz?
