Annabella's heart fluttered. Train them? She was to be given charge over something? What if she could even do some combat training? "Train them to do what, dearest?" "Guard, of course!" he blustered. "You stupid woman." She flinched, and tears stung her eyes (she shouldn't care what he thought, but she did, oh she did)—"I'm sorry, darling, I only meant, is there anything they already know how to do? What weapons would you have them use? Would you have me appoint a leader among them, or—" He waved a hand dismissively. "Do not trouble me with these matters. I have little information; you can assume they're completely unskilled. Train them well, you hear? Enjoy it, as it might be the last taste of combat you ever get." He smiled. "You know, it's just not right for a wench to be involved in such nasty business, but I'm making an exception in this case." She smiled too, though hers was genuine and fond. "You know best, dearheart." "Naturally. You'll start with them first thing after eating." As always, her dinner consisted only of the scraps that Belboz himself didn't want, and she ate hurriedly, standing up. That done, she ran along to the main chamber, where she'd been told they were gathered. And gathered they were: three dozen ugly little green-skinned humanoids, each about three feet high with bulbous noses and beady eyes. They were covered only in loincloths, and seemed to all be male. When she approached, they all began babbling at her at once, swarming her, though they didn't harm her. "Enough!" she cried. "Stay back!" They withdrew, muttering amongst themselves, but one stepped forth and said, "Hello pretty lady! Me Gra'ughk. Me leader. You us train?" "Hello, Gra'ughk," she said, now becoming very excited. "My name is Annabella. Yes, I will be training you. Do tell me, how did my husband acquire you?" Gra'ughk answered,
