At once Fred felt terribly lightheaded, and whimpered slightly as she reached up to lay her hand against her forehead, but she swooned, losing consciousness completely, before it made it there. Nate lurched forward to catch her, knocking his stew on the floor, but catch her he did, and as he lowered her to the floor he turned wide eyes on Phelyp and exclaimed, "What have you done?" "You heard that little gasp, didn't you?" said Phelyp, excited. "She's cured! I'll be taking my payment now." Nate looked down at her and ran his hand down the side of her face. She stirred slightly, but did not wake. "She'll be all right, then?" Phelyp waved dismissively. "Oh, of course." "Well... good. You'll get your money, but since this is a result of the solution, I must insist that we remain here until she is well again." Phelyp huffed. "I think not, sir knight. That was not part of the deal, and I want my house back to myself. I can recommend a good inn in town." And so, with reluctance, Nate paid the man and brought his fair maiden to one of the only three inns in town. He arranged her comfortably in bed and anxiously waited for her to awaken. It was not long before her illness became yet more troubling.
