Peltar was appalled to see how terribly wrong things had gone! The kingdom was down a crown prince! There was something oddly lovely about the two statues, their tentative embrace, the kiss, but... oh, he was out of ideas! How could he fix this?

Unfortunately for poor Peltar, the king lopped off his head that day, and sent out a decree to every wizard in the kingdom - that anyone who could restore Prince Jasper and his betrothed would be rewarded with the very same position and one hundred thousand gold pieces.

Soon wizards were flocking in, trying their luck at undoing the complex enchantment.

  1. And one was, indeed, able to work an effect!
  2. But none could. The decree remained standing, and over many years, wizards continued to try.
