Apparently he has been teaching her magic, and when he left Allaria to come to the caves she followed him. I fear that he might have used a spell on her to bend her to his will. My original task in coming here was to slay the dragon, but I should also like to find her again and try to persuade her to return home with me. But tell me, how is it that you recognised me but not the Princess? After all, she is far better known."

"One would hardly expect to find a princess here. It simply never occurred to me that it might be her. Whereas you were clearly an Allarian knight, which greatly reduced the number of candidates."

Fred accepted that explanation. "I see. Well, I'm afraid that I don't seem to be getting anywhere with the locks on the cuffs. But you should still be able to walk, though you'll be limited to very small steps. I don't know why they bothered to chain your legs, when your arms were firmly secured."

"It's not going to help my walking that I'm naturally feeling rather stiff. But hopefully that will wear off."

"So do you know the way to the dragon's lair from here?"
