The knight introduced himself as Sir Nathaneos Dellenios, or Sir Nate for short. He was in his mid-twenties, broad-shouldered and strong. And, like any young man would be, he immediately had eyes for the beautiful young woman in the cottage he encountered. Fred had mixed feelings on the matter. Obviously, she had no interest in such things, although she had, somewhat against her will, become comfortable in the body she'd now inhabited for three years. But the fact was... this knight could be her ticket out of here. And, as undesirable as it seemed... accepting his advances, or at least tolerating them for now, might be her best bet to convince him to let her tag along. Wenda noticed Nate's interest, as well. She prepared a place for him to sleep on the floor, and he retired early, worn by his travels. As she and Fred washed the dishes they'd used for dinner, Wenda said to her in low tones, so as not to wake him, "He seems smitten, my dear." Fred, uncomfortable, nodded, not looking up. "You're not interested, are you?" Wenda pressed. "Because I can discourage him, if you'd prefer. I can send him away as soon as he wakes up, even. I would not have you be uncomfortable in your own home." Fred had never truly considered this place home, nor Wenda family, though she was indeed fond of the woman who had cared for her so selflessly. But she knew that Wenda enjoyed her presence tremendously, and would not be alone if she had the choice. Her heart weighed heavily, but she looked up, gave Wenda a small smile, and shook her head. "Oh," said the older woman, sounding surprised and dismayed. "My dear, you... you know his life is one of adventure and danger, don't you? He won't be staying." Fred nodded again. Wenda looked afraid to ask her next question, and in fact did not, falling to silence thereafter as they finished cleaning up and retired to bed shortly afterwards. The following morning, as usual, Wenda rose early and prepared breakfast, with Fred joining her shortly afterwards. Nate nearly slept too late to partake, but in the end woke and gratefully accepted the meal, talking all the while of how thankful he was for the opportunity to get some good rest. In between he showered Fred with compliments, leading her to turn bright red multiple times.
