Fortunately the talk-show host believed the ladies, having been alerted by a tie-in security monitor to the lobby; it helped in case there were fans there waiting to mob the celebrity carrying that night's show.
David led the two ladies down one of the access tunnels used to ferry celebrities in and out of the building away from the fannish crowds.

  1. It works. David and his trusted chauffer, a fox morph, ferry the ladies the nearest police station.
  2. It doesn't work; the mysterious attackers have infiltrated the building. David takes a shruiken to the shoulder; but the trio successfully hide.
  3. It's a trick! David delivers them into the hands of the original attacking group.
