Preprogrammed

Whilst she showered, she went back over the events of her strange day. She spotted one thing that was perhaps odder than all the rest. How had Alejandra known that she was going to come here? She had, she thought, chosen this hotel and this floor at random, but Alejandra had already been working as a chambermaid when she arrived. It could hardly be a coincidence. She could only think of one explanation. Just as Alejandra had been programmed to go into a trance whenever she heard the phrase "purple dishwasher", she herself must have been programmed to come here if she ever needed a refuge. Apparently her amnesia hadn't been enough to remove that programming. And for all she knew she might have been programmed with all sorts of other things that were still in force, even if her amnesia had disabled "purple dishwasher" as far as she was concerned.

She wondered how long she could safely remain here. Presumably Alejandra would be expected to report in at some point, and if she failed to do so that would set alarm bells ringing.

1. Could she manage to imitate Alejandra's voice, and use her bluetooth headset to feed Dark Blade a false report (in Spanish, naturally) that would put them off the scent?
2. Alejandra had said that she had answers to things that Stacy needed to know. Should she try to bring her round so that she could interrogate her? But how could she do that, unless she could remember the phrase that would unlock her?
3. She decided that it would be wisest to leave immediately. At least she now had clothes that fit, even if a maid's outfit wasn't ideal.
4. She wondered if she could speak to the hotel manager, who had presumably hired Alejandra, and find out how long she had been working here.
