Stacy followed the guard to the main entrance. She hoped to call the
police as soon as she got out.
Once they reached the entrance, Stacy was surprised when the front inner door would not budge. The guard tried as well, with no luck. His security password would not work. "Damn IT department, they always forget to tell the night crew when they change the codes." "This will just take a minute." the man assured Stacy, walking over to the security phone. His expression changed to one of concern quickly, though. "The lines are dead." Stacy was becoming quite nervous, wondering if she should confide in the guard about Lee and the cultists. She had wanted to go to the police directly, but they seemed to be locked in for the moment. Meanwhile, the increasingly frustrated guard was trying his two-way radio with no success. "This is Watts in sector 1, do you copy? Harper? Sanchez? Anderson? Somebody answer!" Nothing but static. The guard eyed Stacy suspiciously. He hadn't examined her closely before, and it had been dark. But now she had his full attention, and he knew something was amiss. She was barefoot, (having given her sneakers to Lee along with the rest of her clothes), and her flowing white dress was torn in places (so she could move easier). But what he noticed most of all was the nervous look on her face. He could tell she was hiding something. "Miss, you want to tell me what the hell is going on here?"
