It occurred to Stacy that in a strange way losing her memory had been to
her advantage.
Ordinarily, she would no doubt have been devastated to find her boyfriend
in a clinch
with another woman - well, more of a girl really, since she looked to be
no older
than twenty at the most. As it was, Stacy wasn't bothered by it at all,
indeed even found
the man's obviously false protestations of innocence rather comical.
She wondered what she should say. Mustering the amount of indignation that seemed called for was rather difficult in the circumstances. And it didn't help that she didn't even know her boyfriend's name. (She was thankful that she wore no wedding or engagement ring; at least he was only her boyfriend, though judging by how guilty he was acting their relationship must have been a fairly serious one.)
