"Oh," said Ermentrude. "But you are willing to try?"

"Um," said Savaric. "I mean I guess?"

"Wait," said Isabella, and pulled the other four in closer to whisper, "If he's not all that good, is it wise to let him try to put us back together? It could go terribly wrong"

Katrina blew an inappropriate amount of air out through her mouth. "He's a wizard, and he's willing to try to help us," she scoffed. "Those are traits we're not going to find in just anyone we come across!"

"But there may be a middle ground," offered Hannah after a moment of silence.

"That's true," said Isabella, and asked Savaric, "Is there perhaps a spell you could give us, a recipe for a potion or something like that? Then we could take it to someone more skilled."

Savaric (and Marigold, who represented most of Fred's people skills) was shocked at the rudeness of this request. At length he said

  1. "I'm afraid you've just rubbed me very much the wrong way. I think you should move along"
  2. "Well, you're going to have to explain to me just what the problem is that you want resolved first"
  3. "I don't really use any materials... I'm really just a wizard as a matter of happenstance, I have some magical abilities and that's nice to use to impress strangers, but it's not like I spend any time practicing. I'm just a normal bloke, living in a cave"
