"It's too dark," reported Katrina, her teeth chattering as she pulled herself on shore. "I couldn't find the bottom, let alone her." They stayed for a time, but Hannah did not resurface. As they sat, they felt something inside them shift. They felt... incomplete, lost. They realized this must have been what Jane was talking about. Eventually they decided they had to continue on, and try to find a way out of the caves. For a while they carried their soaking wet gowns, but the caves were very cold, and they eventually had to put them back on, once they had mostly dried.
