First Few Months

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 115477

Belboz was angry and humiliated by his new situation, and though he wouldn't admit it, very afraid. He could not break through Arius's spell nor generate any magic of his own. And he couldn't banish the guilt he felt for dragging that hapless knight into all this. Arius wouldn't tell him what he'd done with him - well, her - and indeed had commanded him not to ask again. The poor girl could have been transformed into anything. She might not even be around anymore. Belboz just had no idea.

Arius was smart - restrictions had been placed on Belboz that prevented him from attempting many of the things he would've. He couldn't get into Arius's potions room and he wasn't even allowed to talk to anyone but Arius himself. The wizard had a handful of other servants, but Belboz was by far the youngest, and the rest all seemed to talk to each other freely. It appeared he was the only one who was enchanted.

Belboz learned the ropes quickly, and weeks passed while he waited for an opportunity to accomplish any of his three goals: get himself out, get Fred out, and steal that Malbonctish cauldron that was the reason he'd come here in the first place. After a couple months,

  1. Arius said something offhandedly that led Belboz to believe that there was a collection of enchanted people somewhere in his gardens.
  2. Marcelina, Arius's daughter, was using the Malbonctish cauldron while Arius was out.
  3. Belboz felt the obedience spell on him beginning to weaken.
