He didn't bother erasing their memories. Chickens were incredibly stupid anyway. And indeed, when they woke up they acted more or less like ordinary chickens. They hadn't even been in their coops for three hours before they'd each laid an egg. Belboz scrambled them, and of course, since the chickens they came from where magical, they were delicious. He congratulated himself on the decision.

  1. After keeping the chickens for a year or so, he turned them back into Hannah and Muriel.
  2. He decided he enjoyed keeping chickens, and resolved to acquire more.
