"Uh," Lizzie said dazedly, and found herself being pulled to her feet, across the floor, and out the door.

They'd taken Aaron's car to the café, and he led her to the passenger's seat and came around the front to get into the driver's seat. Her mind was clearing up by now.

  1. Aaron had kissed her... and she'd kissed back... she was so confused and guilty, but she knew that he had initiated it and was certainly at least partly in the wrong. She got out of the car and started to run.
  2. As soon as Aaron got into the seat next to her, he took her face into his hands and kissed her again, and all at once her brain turned to goo again.
