The house's style appeared much like that of the room she had stepped into from the room back home where all this had started—futuristic and alien. "Lizzie?" came a voice, and she looked to the side. The young man who'd come to see her in that white room was approaching her. "You're much more tired than you claimed, babe. Why don't you head to bed? You still need time to recover." Fred's mouth opened and closed. She glanced around the room, and her eyes fell on a framed embroidered cloth hanging from the wall that read "Lizzie and Josh." "Josh," she said carefully, and he didn't react as if it was abnormal. "How did I get here?" He furrowed his brows in worry. "You don't remember? Are you feeling okay, baby? You need to go back to the hospital?" What did that word even mean? This was all so frustrating and frightening. Fred just shook her head mutely. "Look, you're going to bed, right now. If you still feel strange when you wake up we're going right back, okay?" She nodded, too uncertain of anything to argue, and was about to stand when he simply picked her up from the chair. She let out a yelp, not used to being this small. For the first time she registered that she was wearing a light dress she didn't recall putting on. What was happening? Josh brought her to the same room she'd stepped into after she'd been transformed, laid her in the large bed, and kissed her on the forehead, a gesture she shied away from. He withdrew, closing the door behind him. Fred had at least planned on investigating the room further in his absence, if not on escaping entirely, but as soon as he was gone, exhaustion overtook her once again and she fell fast asleep.
