But Fred was the lie!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 115129

Immediately something tickled, nay, scratched at Hannah's mind—there was no evidence of Meg and Tom's existence. She knew exactly where they lived, and this was it. Given the evidence, she was undeniably wrong. And she had just been doubting the viability of these memories.

Hesitantly, in mounting horror, she wandered around the area, finding most parts of it unrecognizable without the tilled land, the crops, the barn, the farmhouse, the animals. It was merely an untouched patch of land. But... but she remembered! She could conjure up specific childhood memories, emotions, all attached to the farm that was supposed to be here! That could not have been manufactured! She was Hannah, niece of Meg and Tom! Not Fred—she couldn't even remember his full name! The farm had to be real, it simply had to!

She wept piteously, utterly confused and alone.

  1. Soon night fell, and she decided to sleep right here, under the stars. Maybe she would wake up in the morning to find this was all just a horrible dream.
  2. As she cried, a voice came to her: "What's wrong, little girl?"
