Presently the nurse ushered in a supremely handsome young man, dressed in clothes as alien as everything else Fred had been seeing. "Hey, Lizzie," he said, smiling gently and uncertainly. "How are you feeling?"

Fred's mouth opened and closed, the bizarre situation finally beginning to overwhelm her mental faculties. The nurse left them, and the man began to approach the bed.

  1. Suddenly, Fred knew his name. Josh. She even sort of remembered spending time with him before, in this form. But... but that was impossible! What was happening?
  2. As soon as they were alone, his demeanor changed. "Essentially going with 'of Allaria' as a surname made you very easy to find."
  3. The man sat at the end of Fred's bed. "Why'd you run off last night, sweetheart?"
