They weren't too much trouble to exact on her, and were certainly simpler than trying to set anything up that was more long-term. And anyway, they were kind of fun.

Now, all these spells of a specific nature showed up on the radar of a local authority on magic, named Romestám. He knew exactly what spells were cast within a radius of a few hundred miles, and he knew where. Eventually he became concerned with the type of victimizing spells that he kept detecting in Vycynth's territory, and went to investigate.

  1. Vycynth realized that he was coming, and in a panic, he released Freda, not wanting to face legal repercussions.
  2. Vycynth was surprised when Romestám came to his door.
  3. Vycynth was not even present when Romestám arrived, so the wizard let himself in.
