The wizard patted the cow's side and began leading her away. As they walked in a direction with which Freda was not familiar, he said, "I can sense that you have not always been a cow. But you seem content as one, so I shall not bother you. In fact, you will help me greatly, as I need your milk for a few potions and spells. I may even keep you around after that, give you a good home. In case you might be of similar use in the future."

  1. Freda decided she did not like this man, and began to pull at the rope by which he was leading her.
  2. Freda did not understand what was happening, but the man seemed nice enough.
  3. Freda understood what the wizard was saying, and something old and persistent tickled at the back of her mind.
