The man enthusiastically greeted her. "Are you the 'perfect barmaid' I was promised? Gemma, yes?" Fred nodded. A barmaid? Well, it was no knightly quest, but at least she was out of that castle and that marriage... "I'm Garrod! Pleasure to meet you. Come inside!" Of course, she did, and entered a festive area decorated with many lights and filled with the hustle and bustle of patrons. "Welcome to the Laughing Bull! Have you ever been a barmaid before?" When Gemma - Fred shook her head, Garrod said, "Well, here's all you have to do: serve people what they ask for, and take their payment! And most important of all, always be friendly, be attentive, and be beautiful!" Garrod didn't realize it, but he'd just changed Fred's entire image. A smile spread over her face and she said warmly, "I won't let you down, sir! It's an honor to work for you!" "Excellent! With an attitude like that, you can't fail. Now, hop to it, we need immediate help!" Fred headed promptly to the bar, hopping along the way. She was rather apprehensive about the commands "always be friendly and attentive," because when you're cursed to take every order literally, that sounded like an exhausting way to live.
