It was starting to get dark as the huge Magisterium ship slowly drifted skyward leaving the city a smoking ruin.
"Well, I've had enough of this." Astra, who had been sitting huddled on the grassy hill with the rest of the Maelstrom crew, stood up. "What's your plan?" asked Kester. "You might find it a long walk home?" "I'm going to the city." Astra picked up her gun belt and strapped it on. Kester raised an eyebrow. "The city?" "Yes," said Astra. "You saw what happened. They might need some help." "They just had their city blasted. How are you and your little gun going to help." Astra Shrugged. Kester narrowed his eyes. "What are you really going to do, Astra?" Astra ran her fingers through her hair then crossed her arms. "Alright, alright. I just want to take a look around. Anything's better than just sitting here." "You're crazy," said Ogilvy. "You could run into a squad of clerics." He turned to Stacy. "They're bound to have put boots on the ground." "Then my little gun and I will vanquish their little squad." Astra started off in the direction of the city. "You coming Stacy?" Stacy got to her feet. "Of course." She looked around at the other two. "We should stick together. Come on, are you a man or a mouse." Kester said nothing but got up and checked his blaster before holstering it. Ogilvy remained sitting firmly on the ground. "A bit of both actually. I'm a mouse-like man." "It's up to you." Stacy followed Astra. Kester looked towards Ogilvy and shrugged before heading after the two women. "Maybe mice have the right idea," Ogilvy called out after them. "Mice are very intelligent creatures!" "If your staying there on your own, keep your communicator handy," shouted Stacy over her shoulder. "It'll be getting dark soon." Ogilvy looked around at the lengthening shadows. "I've never been a fan of the dark," he muttered to himself. He looked up at the darkening sky. "I'm sure Carl will be back with the ship soon. I should have stayed on the ship. Why didn't I stay on the ship?" In the end, he lasted all of ten seconds before hurrying after the others.
