Stacy found Astra in the Astrogation room. The room was dark, the only ambient light coming from the glowing screens that around around the circular chamber. Each screen showed a different star map. In the center of the room was a large circular table, the surface of which was actually a giant touch screen. Astra lent over the screen, manipulating the large scale star map.
"You alright babe?" asked Stacy, leaning in the doorway. Astra looked up and managed a smile. "Verily. Come now, sweet lady. behold the realm we find ourselves in." Stacy joined Astra and looked at the star map. There were hundreds of stars. Different regions were enclosed by faintly colored polygons. "This is the local region of space," said Astra. "This is the Maelstrom's current location." She pointed to a pulsing red blob. "The different colors represent the various regions of space. This is Solidarity controlled territory. The large region bordering it is the Free Trade Congolmerate. You might be interested to know that it includes this star system." Astra pointed to a innocuous-looking star somewhere near the center of the region. "That's Earth." "Nice to know," said Stacy. "And what's this region?" She pointed to a jagged shape not far from their current position. "That's the Holy Magisterium." "What's that meant to mean?" "I have no idea," said Astra.
