A Woman of Power

Though Astra had taken cover behind a conveniently-placed bush as soon as the door had started to open, and was about fifty metres away, the woman turned her head to look directly at where she was hiding. "You may as well come out," she called. "I know that you're there. Don't be afraid; I won't harm you."

Deciding that it would be futile to try to hide any longer, Astra emerged from behind the bush. "My name is Astra," she said. "How did you know I was there?"

1. "I am a magic user, a sorceress if you want to use that term despite its rather negative associations."
2. "I am a sorceress. And I'm afraid that I was lying when I said that I wouldn't harm you."
3. Instead of answering Astra's question, the woman said: "I already knew who you were, Princess Astra."
