Sliding out

Was she asleep? No, her eyes were open but it was dark. She felt the breathing mask on her face. The thick liquid against her skin. She reached out and could feel the perpex tube. But why was it dark. Where were Michiko and Astra? She started to feel a swell of panic. How long had she been here? Why had they left her?

She tried to hit against the perpex but the viscous liquid rendered her blows useless. But then she felt the liquid dropping away from her face. There was a clunk and she felt a draught of air cooling her wet skin. Dim blue points of light appeared and she could see that the perspex bubble had lifted up. Stacy ripped off the breathing mask and gasped the cool fresh air. She grasped the edge of the tube. Her fingers were slick and were slipping on it's smooth surface but she managed to haul herself out.

She fell onto the floor and lay for a moment curled up, her naked skin wet and glistening in the blue light. Her vision was blurry but she could make out the shape of the room. It didn't look like Michiko's lab at all.
