Stacy was taken aback. She had had no idea that buying ISPs would be such a dangerous business. Was all this standard procedure, or had a specific threat been received? For the moment, she couldn't think of a way to find out without risking revealing her amnesia. It would be hard enough, she thought, to carry out the negotiation without any idea of what she should be doing, without having to worry about her own safety as well.
