Teleport Now

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 113359

The door exploded open and a pirate stepped through, machine gun firing blindly as he came.

Stacy, Ogilvy and Kester had taken cover behind an overturned desk and kept their heads down as bullets raked the room. As soon as the man stopped firing, Kester popped his head over the top and fired his blaster. A powerful bolt of plasma slammed into the pirate, lifting him off his feet and slamming him into the wall.

Kester looked down open mouthed at the gun in his hand and then looked up at Stacy. "Where did you get this?"

"They came with the ship," said Stacy. "Excuse me." She fired a red beam past Kester's left ear, incinerating a pirate who had stepped through the door.

They had to duck down as two more pirates followed him and opened fire. Stacy crouched over the teleport bracelet and pressed the button.

"Maelstrom here," said Carl's voice over the radio.

"Carl!" said Stacy. "Teleport now." She looked up at Kester. "I'll be back in a moment."

Stacy disappeared leaving Kester and Ogilvy bemused.

"I think the stress finally got to me," said Ogilvy. "I've lost my mind."

"But I saw it too," said Kester, firing a couple of blasts at the door and driving back the machine gun wielding pirates who were trying to get in.

"But how do I know I'm not just hallucinating you too?" said Ogilvy.

The air warped and shimmered and Stacy reappeared.

"Put these on," she said, handing them teleport bracelets.

They ducked down behind the desk and put on the bracelets while bullets peppered the room.

"Bring us back," said Stacy into her bracelet.

There was a flash of white light and they found themselves on the teleporter pad onboard the Maelstrom.

"What just happened?" said Ogilvy, looking around wide eyed.

"I assume we are now on board your ship," said Kester examining his surroundings. He stepped up to the console and then looked back at Stacy. "It's a teleporter, isn't it?"

"There's no such thing," said Ogilvy.

"There's no such thing in the Free Trade Congolmerate. Or the Solidarity. But there have been experiments with limited success."

"Limited meaning what?" asked Ogilvy.

"Limited meaning when you teleported people they didn't come out the other end as people," said Kester. "But it would appear someone has perfected it. Which leads me to the question, who are you people?"

"There's no time to discuss that," said Stacy. "We need to go and get Astra. Carl, let me introduce Darian Kester and Ollie Ogilvy. They're going to help us get Astra back."
