There were at least ten men - it seemed that this was not an "equal opportunities" pirate outfit, as there were no women - facing our heroes, all of them with their weapons drawn. Astra and Stacy might have been able to inflict some casualties, but even Astra could see at a glance that they had no chance against so many. "Beam us out now, Carl!" she said. But nothing happened! It seemed that either the communications or the teleport device itself must be faulty.
"Drop your weapons!" one of the men - presumably their leader, ordered. "Then put your hands up." Seeing no alternative, they did so. "Well, well,well," the man said. "When we heard the sound of firing coming from the cave, you two weren't at all what I was expecting. Stan and Fritz, relieve them of their jackets. Then run your hands over their bodies in case they have any hidden weapons." "I'm going to enjoy this," Fritz - or it might have been Stan - said.
