"They came in flying machines that look like bats," said Carl. "As big as a barge and as black as night."

"Zen," Said Astra. "Give me more information on the described ship."

"Analysing data," said Zen. The computer's voice was deep and resonant but dispassionate as if he was permanently bored by events. "Ship matches description of 13 ship designs in my database. Most likely match is a class 4 Sintari battle-freighter. Ship often used by smugglers and space pirates. Ship is capable of sub-light travel only giving it an operational range of one light day."

"So they might be coming from somewhere in this star system," said Stacy. "Zen, can you scan for possible location of space pirates in this star system."

"Scanning," said Zen. "Energy sources indicate multiple possible harbors for Sintari battle-freighters. Large space port on the planet surface. Medium-scale station orbiting planet. Small harbor contained within hollowed out planetoid within asteroid belt."

"Asteroid belt?" said Astra. "Sounds suspicious. Can you give me a visual?"

The view screen changed to a view of space with a blurry image of an irregularly shaped grey rock. There was a barely visible dot exiting the rock.

"Can you magnify?" asked Stacy.

"Image is at maximum magnification," said Zen.

"Take us in closer," said Astra, settling into her chair. "I want to take a look at that asteroid base."
