The Never Ending Quest - Episode 113223

A few weeks after the wedding, things were going rather smoothly. Most of the children were still somewhere on the spectrum between wariness and resentment, but they kept quiet about it, and Hannah could see that Elgorim was trying.

Then, after a full family meal that he had spent most of the day preparing, it seemed that the children had very suddenly taken a shine to him—and Hannah herself rapidly found herself growing very fond of him as well. Why in fact, she was proud to call him father of her future children.

Soon enough, she announced with great joy that she was pregnant.

  1. With this announcement, some of the nearby villagers began to grow seriously concerned about Hannah and the sorcerer she had married, and resolved to investigate.
  2. Soon it began to become evident that Elgorim's potion had somehow overcome Belboz's spell on Hannah—she, as well as all her children, were more concerned about spending time with him than with each other.
  3. The pregnancy advanced at an alarmingly unnatural rate.
