"There are no more seats available."
"I have credit," said Astra. She held up a translucent pink credit card. "Mastercard Express. HotPink card." "I'm sorry," said the girl at the checkout desk. In a flurry she pressed some keys on her keyboard. "There are no more seats available." "We really need to get on a shuttle," said Astra, putting on a smile but Stacy could hear the tension in her voice. "There must be a seat on the next flight, or the one after that..." The girl tapped away on the keyboard again, her manicured red fingernails making tic-tac noises. "All flights for the next seven days are booked for priority boarders only." She put on a smile as fake as her fingernails, like some sort of painted mannequin, her doll-like eyes unblinking. "Priority boarders?" asked Stacy. "What's that?" "I have a HotPink card," said Astra, but the girl seemed unimpressed. "Priority boarding is reserved for Solidarity personnel." "But I have HotPink card. It's higher than platinum card." "Thanks you for your help," said Stacy. She eased Astra away from the desk and spoke to her quietly "I think we'll have to think of a different tactic." "We could stowaway on a shuttle," said Astra. "Sounds tricky," said Stacy. "Probably." Astra crossed her arms, one finger tapping her chin as she looked around the busy space port at the business people rushing from place to place. "There must be someone hear with priority passes. Let's acquire one from one of these suits." "I don't know," said Stacy. "I'm not too comfortable about just taking from an innocent bystander."
