Farewell to an Old Friend

"This is where we part company," said Haruto, "isn't it."

"You could come with," said Astra.

"No," said Haruto, "this isn't for me."

"Where are we going," said Stacy.

"She's going to Solidarity One," said Haruto.

Astra looked into Stacy's eyes and nodded solemnly. "We need to find Machiko. She might be in danger. I just hope we're not too late."

"Well, this is it Princess," said Haruto. They held each other in a tight embrace for a few seconds. Haruto held both of Astra's hands and looked into her eyes. "Come back soon, okay."

"I will, Hari. I promise."

Haruto turned to Stacy and smiled. "You don't have to go you know."

Stacy looked at Astra. She was so tall and majestic, her vibrant hair framing her noble but delicate face. A true warrior princess. But there was something fragile and vulnerable about her. Something almost childlike. Stacy interlocked her arm into Astra's elbow and smiled back at Haruto weakly. "I do need to go. You know I do."

Stacy felt Astra gently squeeze her arm and Haruto hugged them both.

"You'll need the Yurakucho line. It'll take you out to Shin-kiba. They've built a big space port there." and with that, Haruto turned and left, disappearing off into the crowd.
